Dolores J. Nast
Artist Statement:
"My paintings represent
the fruits and vegetables from those imported seeds and root stock. By
developing greater control over the changing relationship of colors, I
conceived a contemporary way of painting those ancestral foods. Thus, I
explored the beguiling intermingling of contrasting and complementary
hues. IT is the use of this intermingling of colors that energizes and
enlivens those conventional fruits and vegetables. The most traditional
subject becomes exciting - modulating volume from its cool dark side to
its light, warm side."
